FRONT OFFICE MANAGEMENT

Course Description:

This course presents a systematic approach to front office procedures by detailing the flow of business through a hotel, from the reservations process to check out and settlement. The course also examines the various elements of effective front office management, paying particular attention to the planning and evaluation of front operations and to human resources management. Front office procedures and management are placed within the context of the overall operation of a hotel.

The Rooms Division Management Diploma program is designed for individuals who want to join the exciting and ever changing world of hotels, resorts, and the hospitality industry at large. The hospitality industry is considered a nationwide growth industry. This program focuses on the skills you will use every day in Front Office, a nerve centre of Hotel or Resort, while giving you a broader understanding of other areas of hotel operations.

Individual Academic Training

There is no better way to learn the Front office operations than to practice it daily to perfection. Individual classroom education is limited and rotated with apprenticeship at Restaurants, Pizza Huts, Clubs and Resort Hotels. You will study individually with assigned tutor/mentor in your chosen field while you are at work. Total academic hours of study on training the basic concepts in Front office Operations will depend on the student’s requirement. Student assessment and evaluation will be done by assigned tutor/mentor by way of conducting tasks, assignments and project work. Study hours are not compulsory for skilled workers and if industry demands them on work spot. But total study will be given by your mentor at your convenient time intervals as well as the convenient time of mentor. But finally your mentor should certify that you have undergone theoretical training in related to your work experience and apply the knowledge to your work.

Practical training or employment in hospitality Industry

This course is based on proven star hotel training models–guided by expert and experienced top hotel executives of star hotels. The students are already hotel/restaurant employees and can use their work experience as the practical training and provide us the training certificate from the place where already they are working. To enrol as students to our programs, the applicants should have minimum 2 years’ experience in their area of hotel operations and also they should be working during the course period.

Project work

The students are advised to do project work as part of the curriculum based on their experiences in academic and industrial work experience. This project will enhance the individual’s creative aspect in Front Office. This project report should be precise and should not be more than 25 pages and should be submitted in pdf file to the mentor assigned to him. The project topic should be related to the student specialization and should be presented in professional way.

Curriculum

The curriculum is designed to teach the basic skills and knowledge of Front office operations in International Hotels through theory and applying it in practically during work and enriches the student with high knowledge of technical art in area operations.

Eligibility

  1. Good English speaking Front office staff with in-born passion to meet various guests, systematic and steady-minded, and who enjoys in meeting them and provide them confortable and happy environment.
  2. Minimum two years work experience in front office is highly essential.
